Mr. John Streyle, Johanna’s father

 

 

BIO:      

                 While in high school, Johanna performed in vocal, band and orchestral ensembles.  She also was a member of Tri-M Music Honor Society, and performed in several church, wedding and other freelance outings.  She was a member of the La Crosse Youth Symphony throughout middle school and high school, and won its annual Concerto Competition in 2004.  Johanna was also a member of several pit-orchestras for theatrical productions at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and Viterbo University.

                 Prior to concentrating on the oboe, she studied piano and cello.
                 Johanna will be a senior at Northwestern University in Fall of 2007, and continues to play in the University Orchestra.  She has been a Dean's list student since her initial recognition in 2005.  Currently, she is pursuing a degree in Psychology, and graduate degrees in Medicine and Public Health.  During the 2006-07 academic year, she studied abroad in Cape Town, South Africa; topics included Public Health and HIV/AIDS research.

                 Johanna is the daughter of John Streyle and Christine Miller; her sister, Laura Streyle (violinist), received this scholarship in 2007.
